A worst of Famine & Drought of the century in the Horn caused by excessive damming & land grabbing in Ethiopia announces regime change

The  famine in the Horn of Africa used be blame mainly for the drought caused by the global  climate change ignoring the pricipla culprit the  the dictatorial regime.  In the past the same  has brought regime change in country of  hunger Ethiopia two times,  that of the Negus in 1974 and the Derg  Military Junta in 1991. As the French says there is no two without three, we expecting a regime change in the country since all conditions are meeting as those of the last two experiences    due to the starvation in Wello in 1974 and in Tigre in 1984 which cost the lives of millions in the past. The main culprit for this in human repeated catastrophe this day has been mainly given to the extreme weather conditions demonstrated by hurricanes, floods, droughts all over the globe.

The current drought conditions have been caused by successive seasons with very low rainfall due to wanton construction of the dams all over Ethiopia by the dictatorial regime of Melese Zenawie. Over the past decade the Horn of Africa has experienced consecutive failed rainy seasons having direct co-correlation in this period of intensification of damming in the region.  According to surveys of local communities, this is part of a long-term shift as seen in Borana communities in Ethiopia report that whereas droughts were recorded every six to eight years in the past, they now occur every one to two years since the construction of dams in Omo and Shebelle rivers.

Today’s rainfall projections are unclear. Most modeling, as reflected in the IPCC’s last assessment, suggests more rain will fall in the east Africa region as a whole, with an increase in “heavy events” (sudden downpours, so more flood risk). However, some recent studies suggest rainfall will decrease, particularly in the long rains. To reverse the trend the regional governments must stop wanton damming and wasteful irrigation likes that of Sudan and Ethiopia. According to IPCC’s last assessment, suggests more rain will fall in the east Africa region as a whole, with an increase in “heavy events” (sudden downpours, so more flood risk). However, some recent studies suggest rainfall will decrease, particularly in the long rains.

Since the construction of  the Mega dams in the Southern Ethiopia  the regional meteorological data supported  the argument by demonstrating the increase of the  annual temperatures from 1960-2006 by 1C in Kenya and 1.3C in Ethiopia, and the frequency of hot days is increasing in both countries in the region of the dams. However, more recent research suggests that rainfall decreased in the rainy seasons of March to June.  When it comes to records and data collections like Europe and America climate change could not   be attributed to the Horn of Africa’s drought, since t the current drought is directly climate change. True, there are now a few cases in which scientists have been able to estimate the extent to which man-made climate change has made a particular extreme weather event more likely, but these exercises require reliable long-term weather data that only exists for Europe and North America – no such studies as yet exist in the case of the current drought.

What about the future? Globally, climate change modeling projects an increase in the frequency and severity of extreme weather events like droughts and floods. In the absence of urgent action to slash global greenhouse gas emissions, temperatures in the region will probably increase by 3C-4C by 2080-99 relative to 1980-99. The combination of higher temperatures and more unpredictable rains is alarming for food production. In a   recent estimate horn of Africa could suffer a decline in the length of the growing period for key crops of up to 20% by the end of the century, with the productivity of beans falling by nearly 50% if the dictatorial regimes continue letting land grabbing and disfranchising the local family hold farmers and pastoralist for the sake of this international speculators.  More over, the dam is prepared for these grabbed lands irrigation for an eventual cash crop cultivation of exportation.

According Nobel prize-winning economist Amartya Sen that drought is caused by lack of rainfall, famine is man-made, and thus famines do not occur in functioning democracies.

UN body Calls the Ethiopian Megalomaniac to suspend his “Death Dam” of famine & drought Prof. Muse Tegegne

The  World Heritage Committee heard our over  two years old appeal  to  stop the Ethiopian Dictator  and the anti environmentalist  three gorge dam    Chinese financiers to  suspend the death dam called Gebe III; which eventually will eliminate  the Omotic people by  drying the naturally reserved world heritage Lake Turkana. We hopping the same august body will do to stop the other death dam on the Nile River known as “Millennium Dam which eventually dries the Nile and Lake Tana with unpredicted catastrophic result on the population of the region from Blue Nile down to Egypt. The recent famine and drought is the direct consequence of the these death dams :- Gebe I. II, III & that of the dam on the Shebelle river the only live water source for all the inhabitants of Southern Somalia. Wabe-Shebelle Death Dam is located 785 km South-East of Addis. the deadly dam he project has 2238.19 Mm 3 live storage between 580m and 535.41m, with a  power system of  111 m high. This is the main dam responsible for the drought in the Shebelle Juba region of Somalia by controlling the annual floods in a region the annual rain fall is not sufficient. Today from such dam with that of the Om or river dams the region is highly affected by unprecedented drought. The Ethiopian dictator is fully responsible to this in human act of eliminating million of inhabitants in the region. Unless he is stopped immediately he will transform   the whole region into a desert. Lake Turkana in Northern Kenya is the world’s largest desert Lake which would   eventually dry up like that of the Gobi Lake in Asia which has now ceased to exist.   This unique ecosystem has made it an outstanding living open laboratory for the study of plant and animal communities according to World heritage. The Lakes’   rich fossil finds that have allowed reconstructing the history of animal species and mankind over the past 2 million years will cease to exist by the Ethiopian water dictator Melese Zenawie.  Lake Turkana due to its unique properties in 1997 was recognized and protected as a World Heritage Site. It blood line the Omo river the home of Lucy and Ardi also pouring   this  menaced Lake over 90% of its life giving water source. The creation of dams on Omo rivers have recently accelerated the desertification by  causing unprecedented drought which caused the destruction of  over 10 million people in downstream  Kenya and the damming the Shebelle river damaged the Shebelle river farmers of Somalia. This was confirmed by the recent study study commissioned by the African Development Bank that the dam would likely cause a significant drop in the lake’s water level, increase its salinity, and threaten the unique ecosystem for which the lake was recognized as a World Heritage Site in the first place. According to the international waters the Gibe III Dam is being built by an Italian company. ICBC, a Chinese state-owned bank, has approved funding for the project, and China’s export credit agency is financing the transmission lines. The dam would not only have devastating impacts on the Omo River and Lake Turkana, but also on the 500,000 indigenous people who depend on the river and lake for their livelihoods. The  World Heritage Committee, which oversees the protection of World Heritage Sites around the globe, in its  annual meeting heard our cry  and  decided to take action for the protection of Lake Turkana.  The two  culprit  country Ethiopia and China   being two of the 21 members  of the  organization   did stop the august body to take  the following decisive  motions against their proactive corrupting  lobbies   :-

  • It expressed their “utmost concern” about the proposed construction of the Gibe III Dam and urged the Ethiopian government to “immediately halt all construction” on the project.
  • It asked the governments of Kenya and Ethiopia to invite a monitoring mission to review the dam’s impacts on Lake Turkana,
  • It demanded the financial institutions “to put on hold their financial support” until the Committee’s next annual meeting in June

The following are the world Heritage in Ethiopia but still we have a lot of world hertage in my an place in Ehtiopia in the islands of Lake Tana which are not yet explored. Thus Lower Valley of the Omo where the dictator is constructing his mega dams are reserved areas.

UN Body Calls for Suspension of Gibe III Dam to Protect World Heritage

Eritrea, Addis Ababa’s dictator Searching UN mandated overthrow of the regime; and our Solution for Somalia Prof. Muse Tegegne

The UN Security Council based on the   resolutions 751 (1992) and 1907 (2009) concerning Somalia and Eritrea brought out an allegations which eventually strengthens  the regime in Addis search of regime change in Asmara.

U.N. Monitoring Group report on Somalia and Eritrea said the Red Sea state’s intelligence personnel were active in Uganda, South Sudan, Kenya and Somalia, and that the country’s actions posed a threat to security and peace in the region. The allegation pursued word by word the accusation of   the belligerent Melese  Zendawie regime -“The plan was to attack the AU headquarters with a car bomb as African leaders took breaks, to blow up Africa’s largest market to “kill many people” and attack the area between the Prime Minister’s office and the Sheraton Hotel — where most heads of state stay during AU summits.”

The U.N. report also endorsed the Ethiopian regime terms saying ” Omar is an OLF member who was approached by the Eritrean security services though Colonel Gemachew. Omar, who visited Eritrea in 2009 and 2010, became the Addis team leader for the plot.”

The U.N. report included a letter from Romania confirming a sniper rifle found in the possession of one of the bomb plotters had been sold to Eritrea in 2004.

The report included slips showing payments to the plotters in Addis Ababa through money transfers. The plotters told the U.N. that an Eritrean colonel had arranged for the transfers via intermediaries in Sudan and Kenya.

Ethiopia routinely accuses Asmara of supporting rebel groups. In a shift of policy, Prime Minister Meles Zenawi declared in April it would support Eritrean guerrillas fighting to overthrow President Isaias Afewerki. However, Melese Zenawie   these days  seems  too look for  the UN mandated overthrow overthrow of the regime in Asmara. Since the most  aclaimed proxy wars seem not working any more.

The report also included copies of payments slips from Eritrean officials in Kenya’s capital Nairobi to known members of Somali rebel group al Shabaab. It said the payments were to the tune of $80,000 a month.

“The Monitoring Group has obtained documentary evidence of Eritrean payments to a number of individuals with links to al Shabaab,” the report said.

“The documents obtained were received directly from the embassy of Eritrea in Nairobi, including payment vouchers marked ‘State of Eritrea’,” the report said.

“The embassy of Eritrea in Nairobi continues to maintain and exploit a wide network of Somali contacts, intelligence assets and agents of influence in Kenya.”

The Eritrean government Ministry of Information immediately rejected this allegation as the fabrication of the Ethiopian regime.  The full report – all 417 pages are all the previous reports which are packed with fascinating detail about the inner workings of Somali piracy, the origins of illegal arms flows and the structure of al-Shabaab, Somalia’s Islamist insurgency.

The following are the principal points:-

On the Transitional government:-

The UN-backed Transitional Federal Government is ineffective, divided, and corrupt and its leadership lacks vision so is incapable of providing leadership or bringing stability.

On African Union AMICOM soldiers arm deals:-

Arms supplied to the African Union troops and government forces in Mogadishu are sold openly in the al-Shabaab controlled Bakara Market;

No Eritrea

Eritrea planned a series of bomb attacks targeting an African Union summit in January the capital of Ethiopia, its old enemy that would “make Addis Ababa like Baghdad

On Al- Shabaab:-

The group earns up to $100-million a year from taxation and extortion, as a business operation of revenue

On Punt land based   Private security companies:-

Saracen International committed “egregious violations of the arms embargo” by setting up a military training camp and deploying foreign security personnel in the semi-autonomous region of Punt land.

The allegation also accused the company having links to Xe Services, formerly known as Blackwater.

Our  element of solution in  Horn of  African  Conflict:-

The only lasting solution for the conflict of the horn of Africa’s wanton conflict is to find a definitive peace between Addis and Asmara based on the retreat of all foreign forces from Somalia. The conflict in Somali is manipulated by the Melese Zenawie for two main reasons – to keep himself  in power proving as peace keeper in the horn of Africa to fighting Al-Qaida, and secondly a battle ground for incrimination of his enemy the regime in Asmara. And finally  let the regional governments of Somalia to handle the  conflict by empowering them- that of Somaliland  & Puntland  to deal with  Mogadishu and South Shebele regions.

The Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 751 (1992) concerning Somalia was established on 24 April 1992 to oversee the general and complete arms embargo imposed by resolution 733 (1992) and to undertake the tasks set out by the Security Council in paragraph 11 of resolution 751 (1992) and, subsequently, in paragraph 4 of resolution 1356 (2001) and paragraph 11 of resolution 1844 (2008).

The Security Council first imposed a general and complete arms embargo on Somalia on 23 January 1992 with the adoption of resolution 733. Certain exceptions to the arms embargo were adopted by the Council in its resolutions 1356 (2001)1725 (2006) in paragraph 6 of resolution 1744 (2007), and reiterated in paragraphs 11and 12 of resolution 1772 (2007). Additional exemptions were authorized by the Security Council in paragraph 12 of resolution 1846 (2008) and 11 of resolution 1851 (2008), with respect to efforts to combat piracy off the coast of Somalia.

By its resolution 1844 (2008), the Security Council decided to impose individual targeted sanctions (an arms embargo, including training and financial assistance, on individuals and entities; a travel ban on individuals; and an assets freeze on individuals and entities, as designated by the Committee). The same resolution provides exemptions from the measures and expands the mandate of the Committee.

The sanctions regime is summarized in the table below.

Ethiopian Revisionist Melese Zenawie criticized the Ethiopian Kings Tewodos II and Menlik II the pride of Africans at home and Diaspora Prof. Muse Tegegne

The revisionist Melese Zenawie shamelessly criticized the Ethiopian great Kings. King of Kings Tewedros the unificator of Ethiopia was insulted by this genocidal dictator of Ethiopia. King of Kings Menlik II the victor of Adwa the pride of the all Africans and people of African descent is criticized by the enemy of Africa in Addis Ababa in power. We believe he showed finally his true image as the destructor of Ethiopia and its glorious history. He blamed them being  as war mongers and destabilizors  of Ethiopian unity  while glorifying colonial Japan  and forgetting his role in breaking  Ethiopia in Ethnic lines . Thus dividing Ethiopia based on irredentist premises with a right to secession assured in his constitution, a country they had unified and defended successfully from European colonization. When it comes to colonial Japan we refer him to the countries of Asia Pacific and China to give him some classes. A  history they are not even proud of today which they try to wrewrite by developing fraternity with these countries.

Please listen to the glorious history of these great kings of Ethiopia in the following videos we do not need to produce again…

“Free at Last Free at Last”- Southern Sudan

Free at last Free at last  were the words uttered by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in his march to freedom to liberate his people from institutionalised  segregation. But when it come about South Sudan  they just coming out of institutionalized slavery.

South Sudan became free at last from slavery on early Saturday, officially winning its independence from century old hegemony of the northern slave traders starting a successful insurgency in early 1950’s. The culmination of a January independence vote guaranteed in a 2005 peace deal that ended the most recent north-south war. . This is a day that many Sudanese must have thought would never come when it was almost immediately threatened by the death of the south’s leader, and Sudanese vice-president, John Garang, in a helicopter crash.  As they say “Independence is an event, but it is also a process, slow and fraught with danger”. The problems of Abyie,Southern Kordofan and Blu Nile   are still hanging , though the Sudanese leader Bashir  was  forced to   accept  the independence that  he did not say his last words.

Most of the over 40 ethnic  groups are now armed by the enemy now a partner of the illusive  peace, the Northern  slave master   the genocidal Omar Bashir. Thus,  Juba the southern capital is just facing  only the end of the beginning, and the future is a very uncertain place.

The North already started seeding the grains  discord among the different Ethnic groups  and clans worth than Somalia. The internal dissention  according the live  murmuring is  that “the  Dinka majority has grasped such levers of power as exist – the government and the army – leaving the non-Dinka fifth of the population feeling shut out of senior positions and denied access to development funds.”

The second discord  successfully  at work  declaring  that  ” Despite promises made during the period of co-operation that secured the triumphant referendum result, proposals for a more federal structure of government that might lead to more geographically even development are beginning to look worthless. Juba is determined to stay in control. ”

Southern Sudan has a worst time bomb set   to explode when their mutual enemy is 70 % out of the way tribalism, which is already working at maximum speed.

The fault line in the Horn of Africa’s earthquake is working actively for the opening of the new ocean while the local dictator pursue blindly his project of “Death Dams”

Scores of earthquakes have struck the Horn of Africa in the region known as the Afar triangle  in  this month of   June cumulating in a  volcanic eruption.  May  sky gazers  claim as the approach of the most expected planet x or nibirue while the other attribute the movement of the comet Elenin which is approaching the earth with  a rendez-vous on the 1st of September 2011,  the new year of Ethiopia..  Geologically the horn of Africa is in movement since  millions of years   for the opening of the new ocean by splitting the region for  creating a new ocean. The government of the dictatorial regimes of Ethiopia  continues his project of mega dams on these dynamic fault lines even seen the  volcanoes and the  continues earthquakes . this will menace not only the local inhabitants by immediate danger  but will have a direct consequences on Sudan and Egyptian populations.

Is your family prepared for an M 5.5, Eritrea – Ethiopia region earthquake? Preparedness experts recommend that area families be equipped to survive up to 72-hours without public services in case of emergency. The simplest way to meet this minimum requirement is with a 72-Hour Survival Kit which will meet your family’s food, water, shelter, first-aid, light, heat, sanitation and communication needs.

Read the United States Geological Survey’s full report on this earthquake activity atM 5.5, Eritrea – Ethiopia region. An important part of the USGS mission is to maintain and improve comprehensive earthquake monitoring in the United States with focus on “real-time” systems. The earthquake information above is preliminary and this event may not yet have been reviewed by a seismologist.

June 17:

A moderate earthquake struck near the Nabro volcano in Eritrea Friday, five days after the stratovolcano first sent an ash plume more than 15km into the air.

Volcanic activity decreased overnight but a 5.5 magnitude earthquake on Friday morning could lead to a further increase in volcanic activity. Images from sat24 , however, show what appears to be a much smaller plume being omitted from the volcano.

June 16:

Volcanic activity has increased at the Nabro volcano in Eritrea, just four days after the stratovolcano sent an ash plume more than 15km into the air.

The ash drifted westnorthwest over Sudan Thursday evening threatening to bring further disruption to air traffic in the east Africa region.

Sunday night’s eruption led to some flight cancellations in neighbouring Sudan, Djibouti and Ethiopia, and saw a massive ash plume being carried as far away as Saudi Arabia, Israel, Turkmenistan, the Central African Republic and Egypt.

The below MODIS Terra 1km True Colour satellite image, captured Thursday afternoon, shows the ash plume drifting hundreds of kilometres west of Nabro.

Volcano erupted in Eritrea as expected breaking the Ethiopian Ocean, the mega dams are menaced

The volcano of the Horn of Africa are set in motion by exploding in Eritrea  for the  making of  the most expected Ethiopian ocean. It set in action as we have foretold in this site in previous articles. Many geophysicist and seismologist  thought  it will take millions of years to split the horn of Africa. But we have explained in serious of articles that it is in the end of  the  millions of  years phase,  and even in our time we will see the opening of the new ocean.

It is very simple to give  a reality description of events but the true prediction we have been making will save thousands of live if the government of the region  start evacuating the population and stop damming the region.

In the evening of June 12 2011, a series of earthquakes struck the Afambo, Eritrea area. The earthquakes were followed by 2 strong 5.7 earthquakes.  This pattern will continue till the final breaking  of the Horn  from the rest of the continent of Africa.

UPDATE 21:36 UTC : Some more information on the volcanic complex :
Mallahle is the central of three NE-SW-trending stratovolcanoes in the Danakil horst SW of Dubbi volcano, and lies SSW of Nabro volcano.
These two volcanoes, along with Bara Ale and Sork’Ale, form the Bidu volcanic complex. The complex Mallahle stratovolcano is truncated by a steep-walled 6-km-wide caldera. Mallahle is formed of rhyolitic lava flows and pyroclastics. Basaltic lava flows blanket the slopes of the
volcano. Recent obsidian flows are found on the NW flank of Mallahle and older obsidian flows were erupted on the northern caldera floor.
Flank spatter and scoria cones are most numerous on the western side of the volcano. Extensive ignimbrite deposits associated with the collapse of Mallahle and Nabro volcanoes blanket the countryside.

UPDATE 21:28 UTC : These magnitudes can lead to serious damage if the epicenter is below or very near to Afambo (which is very nearby based on the seismological data) . We do not think that there will be injured people as the series started with moderate earthquakes and as people will stay on the streets after so many earthquakes.  The current situation tends to become very dangerous.

UPDATE 21:23 UTC : A Mw5.7 has been also recorded at depth 9km in around the same area. No record of damage has yet been recorded.

UPDATE 21:03 UTC : Lucas Tavares reports in our Facebook page : I was studying about this volcanoes past hours. Maybe the shakes surrounds the Mallahle or Nabro Caldera, there is’nt any known eruptions of these volcanoes! Shakes are becoming stronger!

UPDATE 20:58 UTC : We have still no trace (as expected) of what is really going on. This last 5.4 earthquake can be damaging at this shallow depth when the epicenter is located below a village or town. As we are unsure of the exact epicenter (the error margin may be 10 to 30 km different than reported by the USGS).

UPDATE 20:56 UTC : The earthquakes are continuing with the last one as the strongest so far with a magnitude of 5.4 at a depth of 10 km.

UPDATE 20:33 UTC : We are more and more convinced that one of the nearby volcanoes went into an active status as the distance to the ridge fault is to big to create this kind of earthquakes. Additionally almost all the earthquakes are occurring near the volcano complex on the picture (courtesy Google Earth)

UPDATE 19:37 UTC : This unusual series of moderate earthquakes have also occurred a couple of months ago in the Gulf of Aden. The earthquakes are typical for separating irregular tectonic plates. The series in the Gulf of Adenhad their epicenter in the immediate area of the ridge fault.
Due to the close-by volcanoes, an eruption pattern of the Dubbi volcano is still possible.  The pre-eruption pattern of both the Icelandic and Chilean volcanoes from the last few weeks is also present here. Compared to Iceland and Chile, Eritrea has other concerns than looking to beautiful eruptions. We will follow up these events and will come back to you as soon as we can get more data ?
UPDATE 16:11 UTC : Other agencies are reporting totally different and less dangerous numbers : GFZ: 4.9 @ 43 km and EMSC 4.7 @ 200 km
Moderate shallow earthquake with an epicenter almost below Afambo.
Approx. 15 km from the Dubbi volcano. The peak of the Dubbi volcano is 1625 m. There have been four known eruptions. In 1400 lava was determined to have reached the Red Sea while in 1861 ash was thrown over 250 km from the volcano. Two further events were suspected between 1861 and the 20th century.

During the late afternoon and evening of June 12 2011 a series of moderate earthquake struck at first near Afambo in Eritrea and later 100 km more to the south in Ethiopia. At the moment of writing, we do not know whether these earthquake have a tectonic or a volcanic origin.

Other moderate earthquakes which occurred after the first earthquake which is described in detail

Eruption

Satellite images showed a large eruption occurring shortly after 2200 UTC June 12, close to 1 AM East Africa Time, in the Southern Red Sea Region. The eruption created a large ash cloud near the Eritrea-Ethiopia border region, eventually extending over 1,000 km (620 mi) into neighboring Sudan.[6]

Forecasters predicted that the ash plume may reach Israel.[7]

Geology

The erupting volcano is located within the Afar Triangle, in the larger Danakil Depression that holds many other active volcanoes. However, neither volcano thought potentially responsible for the eruption has seen activity in the past century, with Dubbi last erupting in 1861 and Nabro remaining quiet for thousands of years. No eruption of Nabro occurred in recorded history.

Earthquakes

A series of earthquakes[8], including two at magnitude 5.7[9][10] struck the region in the hours preceeding the eruption. The tremors may be volcanic in origin.[11]

Drought & Damming- ” Megalomaniac Dams of Melese Zenawie starving over 15 million Ethiopians, Kenyans and Somalians in the Horn of Africa ”

The main culprit on the drought in the horn of Africa is the regime of Melese Zenawie and his  water damming land grabbing project accelerating desertification in the Horn of Africa.  thus having a direct effect on the rain cycle . The last 10 years his regime has been constructing dams and selling arable land to international land grabbers. He has already over 300.000 hectares grabbed most of in the Southern region hit with drought because of the dams. The same dams have brought sever water shortages . The famine is aggravated in the southern region including Kenya and Somalia with a direct effect of damming. This drought is not yet affecting the traditional famine and drought region of Ethiopia. Since his damming mainly the southern rivers by controlling the e yearly water flow, the cycle of rain has stopped as a direct effect and a climate bomb called Gibe I, II, II dams.

The United Nations and aid agencies say the Horn of Africa is facing a humanitarian catastrophe as a result of soaring global food prices combined with the worst drought in 60 years impacting on the region. Melse Zenawie also has been artificially soaring food prices.  The food price rises are combining with severe drought and conflict to create the gravest threat of famine in years across large parts of East Africa and the Horn, victim of wanton internationally uncontrolled dams.

The last two  successive years the intensification of damming in southern Ethiopia have left approximately 11 million people living in remote areas across Southern Ethiopia, Northern Kenya, and Somalia facing famine because of food shortages.

This drought  crisis as ”the world’s biggest forgotten emergency”, many aid donners have s launched  their largest ever appeal to try and stop famine in the region.

”Desperate hunger is looming across the Horn of Africa and threatening the lives of millions who are struggling to survive in the face of rising food prices and conflict,” WFP Executive Director Josette Sheeran said.

”It is essential that we move quickly to break the destructive cycle of drought and hunger that forces farmers to sell their means of production as part of their survival strategy.”

Thought Emergency relief workers are looking to help the people living the areas impacted by drought now in order to prevent famine, we have to resolve the main cause of the famine -damming . The most affected populations in Somalia and North Kenya are, for the most part, semi-nomadic pastoralists, herding camels, goats, and sheep are those used to water from the river and Shebelle waters now dammed.

The lack of pasture and water has led to deaths of cattle on a large scale, leaving families unable to cope with the loss of food and livelihood in the areas of dammed Omo river. The situation has been made even worse by the fact the area was only just recovering from a similar drought two years during the filling of the  Gibe dam.

In most of the  areas, 60 percent of the herds have died. The megalomaniac dammer Melese Zenawie is responsible.

Since the intensification of the dams in the Southern Ethiopia the last two years   about  480,000 children in the Horn of Africa suffer from severe malnutrition — an increase of 50 percent on the figure from the previous drought in January, 2009.

The situation is at its most perilous in Somalia, where the two-decade-long conflict has left the country divided, with much of the population forced to live in refugee camps.

The international community must stop the mad  megalomaniac dictator of Ethiopia from damming the source of their existence  Omo and Shebelle rivers.

Apocalyptic dams in China and Ethiopia are drying lakes and causing drought

The direct effect the Chinese tree Gorge Dams is  drought, land sliding, and drying of  lakes. This will be the best warning for the Ethiopian Dam rug Melse Zenawie from stopping to dam the Nile  and the Omo rivers with consequences of drying Lake Tana and Turkana. Nile its source is the Lake Tana the only life giving lake  to Egypt, while Omo is the life line for Lake Turkana in Kenya.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIpmfKkbizQ&feature=player_detailpage

Poyang Lake just months ago but now is a dry ocean of green grass because of China’s worst drought in decades the main culprit is the three Gorge dams, soon the same will be for Lake Tana in Ethiopia and Turkana in Kenya due the Death Dams of the Nile and Omo rivers constructed with the help the China.

Yangtze River Water Levels Drop par NewsLook——–

As that of  Poyang shrinks to a tenth its usual size, crops wither and millions of people go thirsty, critics point to the gargantuan Three Gorges Dam as one cause, making it a symbol of the risks of the country’s dream of Mega dams not only in China but  also in the drought stricken Horn of Africa.

———————————–

————————————————

Many villagers environmental   scientists suspect the dam not only withholds water from the Yangtze River downstream, but could also be altering weather patterns, contributing to the lowest rainfall some areas have seen in a half-century or more.  The same type of  drought due to the Gibe I,II,III dams  has rekindle a tribal war in Lake Turkana region of Ethiopia and Kenya.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5wQq8JnHUY&feature=player_detailpage

The Chinese government  in the opposite to its Ethiopian counterpart , though in the beginning denies that Three Gorges can cause droughts but has acknowledged some of its environmental problems in a debate that highlights China’s reliance on such showcase projects to sustain its economic boom.

—————–

—————

The Three Gorges Dam,  like the Ethiopian coming  Nile Millennium & gibe III Dams, is the world’s biggest hydroelectric plant is  a way to control flooding along the Yangtze and generate massive power for the country’s ravenous industries.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpjmDal30L0&feature=player_detailpage

The government already has used up 80 percent of the reserves in the 410-mile-long (660-kilometer-long) reservoir by releasing extra water to relieve drought conditions downstream. When it comes  to the future Ethiopian Nile & Omo Dam planed in the image of the Three Gorges Dam will dry up the two rivers  irreversibly.

The Yangtze’s levels have fallen enough to threaten shipping both upstream and downstream as far as Shanghai, where high salt tides threaten drinking water supplies for its 23 million residents. Once the Ethiopian Millennium Dam is over the Sudanese  and Egyptian must prepare to use another means of transport since the Nile will cease to Exist if any Egypt is left without the Nile.

The dam rather than producing great energy as dreamed by the Chinese engineers the  waning hydroelectric capacity are expected to deepen in the hottest days of summer. If it continues at the present rhythm many farmers have to  abandon their dried ponds and fields, prices for food are surging, defying Beijing’s efforts to bring down already stubbornly high inflation. Today China Luks  water to sustain its 1.3 billion people. The Three gorge dams  seems  accelerating the  end of  China’s high growth since the government has exhausted  its natural  environmental reserve to fall back .

The Chinese State Council admitted that  the $23 billion Three Gorges project has caused a slew of environmental, geologic and economic problems. Urgent action is needed to reduce risks of natural disasters such as landslides and alleviate poverty among the 1.4 million people forced to relocate, while their new won satellite state of Ethiopia led by Melse Zenawie  refused to recognize the resent drought in Turkana region is caused by the Gibe dams of Omo river.

More and more Chinese farmers and fisherman’s in the lake Poyang  and around the country that the dam  causes drought. China’s leaders like their Ethiopian counterpart are very sensitive when one criticizes their Megalomaniac Death Dams. People’s Daily like most of the Ethiopians state run Journals recently declared that – “No evidence supports the theory that the Three Gorges causes droughts.”

Dam can altering the humidity of an area  and affect local rainfall . According  to Kenneth Pomeranz,  the University of California’s  specialist on the Chinese Water’s conclusion on the  Apocalyptic three  Gorge  Dams  as a  “big Rube Goldberg contraption.”

“All the pieces have to work or you’ve got big problems. Obviously one of those pieces is that you have to have guessed right about the water supply in the Yangtze basin. If it doesn’t have as much water as was thought, you have to give it up.

Like 6650 km long Nile, to Sudan and Egypt, Yangtze the 6,300 km waterway provides  about a fifth of China’s economic activity and two-thirds of its inland shipping. Since Three Apocalyptic Three Gorge Dams  completion, the region around Poyang Lake has dried out. With the completion of the Ethiopian Millennium Death Dams not only Ethiopia but Egypt and Sudan will revive the Biblical Famine due to the coming unfrequented droughts.

According to Jacques Leslie building dams around the Equator will disequilibrate the earth’s magnetic tilt in his recent conferences. The Ethiopian Dictator must be stopped before he does un reparable damage to the planets magnetic equilibrium.

Activists are Mobilizing around the world against the Ethiopian “Death dams”

Our efforts to stop the Ethiopian Dictatorial Death Dams have started giving fruits internationally while in Ethiopia it is in the very embryonic state.

Recently the Chileans struggle to stop the damming the Andes- Patagonia and that of the Turkish anti dam revolt have given a hope to the people of the horn of Africa. In Kenya the manifestation against the dams is permitted officially while in Ethiopia it a crime against the regime of   Melese Zenawie, nobody even consider criticizing   rather than blindly supporting his megalomaniac Dams of destructions. China after destroying the region of the three dams has come to destroy the only sources of live water in Easter Africa by proposing and financing these death dams to Ethiopian dictator. Resistance is coming from around the world to resisting these destructive dams.

Here is the a recent article on CBS world watch on the Negative effect of the damming in Ethiopia written by Celia Hatton of CBS  which reads as follows:-

“It’s a story that truly spans the globe: Activists from all over the world, including San Francisco, are trying to stop the construction of a dam in Ethiopia financed by a Chinese bank.

The Gibe 3 Dam is in the early phases of construction on Ethiopia’s powerful Omo River, using

Chileans and Ethiopians on Asymmetric environmental consciousness truck on Damming

Chile and Ethiopia plays an asymmetric historical similarity in political development since mid 1970’s. The environmentally suppressed Ethiopians are pacified to accept without opposition the “Nile & Gibe Death Dams”. In contrast the democratic civil society of Chile  that vividly revolted the construction of serious of dams in the Andes valley Ethiopia accepted  docilely.  Chile successfully toppled the dictator Augusto Pinochet and reestablished the democratic state of Chile in 1990. One year after the end of Chilean dictatorial regime the Ethiopian dictator Mengistu Haile Mariam collapsed with the rest of the ex Soviet satellite sates. He was replaced by an irredentist dictatorial ethnic regime of Melese Zenawie. In Latin American Chile is a country where the basis of democracy and economic development is  well established by successfully replacing the military junta lead by generals who toppled the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende.  It was only 1974, after 3000 years that the people of Ethiopia engaged in a people’s revolution that removed the imperial regime of the Negus,  while  Chile was taken over  by a dictatorial regime of Augusto Pinochet. It seems both countries went in different dimension – when Ethiopia goes on the wrong direction Chile seems doing better by going on the right track or vise versa. Now Chile is on the right track while Ethiopia is lamenting in famine and irredentism risking  balkanization.
In sum total Chile seems luckier in her social change than that of Ethiopia.
Thus Chronology of Asymmetric dates between Chile and Ethiopia in social development.

Thousands of Chileans took to the streets of the capital, Santiago, against the planned construction of a hydroelectric dam in Patagonia.

The Chilean dam e protest was mostly peaceful but ended in clashes with police that left several people arrested.

Hydro Aysén project includes Endesa Chile and Colbún-plans to build five power plants in the Chilean Patagonia. Critics say they have a disastrous effect on the environment and the destruction of 6,000 hectares of forest.

Last Friday held a similar protest which brought 30,000 people. In recent weeks there have been demonstrations against the dam almost daily

Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Pinochet Melee Zenawie lunched a Millennium Hydropower plant, the biggest hydropower plant in Africa yet.

The dam, which will be constructed on Nile River some 40Km from the Sudanese boarder, is expected to be completed in four years time. The Grand Millennium Dam will be the largest artificial lake with a capacity of holding 63 billion cubic meter of water, twice the size of the largest natural lake in the country – Lake Tana. By the time the death dam will be filled with water the Nile will not be following to down river basin countries like Sudan and Egypt. Egypt depends solely for her water from the Nile waters. Such drastic move will drain the Lake Tana   the artificial lake and dry the Nile definitively.

Earthquakes and Solar Wind of 28 & 29 May 2011

Ethiopia on the 20th anniversary of Irredentism, War & Famine is ready to balkanize in model of Somalia and Yugoslavia, Muse Tegegne, Prof.

Ethiopia inaugurates the 20th year of Ethnical irredentism balkanizing  of the unitary  state as existed for over 3000 years. This dictatorial regime of Melese Zenawie came to power at the demise of the satellite regime of Mengistu Haile Marian two years after  the fall the iron curtain in  19191. Melse acessed  power by  manipulating  famine aide  to buy arms at the expense of millions starving in the region of Tigre and the rest of Ethiopia.

The recent “day of rage” counter demonstration planned by democracy activists failed to materialize  in the model of  Arabic Awakenings is  due to two principal reasons –  first of the absence of a grass root movements to embrace their call since the diasporas has been  busy collecting money  criticizing one another in pal talks    rather than organizing  mass under trodden inside Ethiopia , thus end up being a media tiger  –  and  second of the Ethiopian youth is at embryonic stage of social networking highly controlled by the state. If any, they are all those the benefiter of the regime who manipulated the internet not the mass youth like that of Egypt and Tunisia.

Thousands of Ethiopians were forced to turn out in Addis Ababa’s main square to mark Prime Minister Melees Zenawi’s 20th anniversary in power at the risk of losing their job
though at the gunpoint the turnout at Addis Ababa’s Meskel Square was a fraction of the one million predicted by the dictator. The dictator order to cut down the event to its minimum gave further instruction for the office workers to go back to work.

In many part of country the regime deliberated its 2th anniversary the day before to circumvent the mass uprising.

The dictator Melese Zenawi’s address bit the record of minimum speech of 5 minutes to commemorate his coming to power 20 years ago, he used to make a long brain storming at the model of  totalitarian regimes. Rather he tried even to drawn it in the Nile by calling for support of construction of a massive dam. This I unprecedented challenge  for  downstream  riparian  by constructing a megalomaniac  death dam which eventually will drain and dry the  flow of the Nile river  by stopping the annual flooding., while Ethiopia endowed with plenty of thermal energy accessible with a less cost to human and environment consequences in a country   over 3 million starveling.

The last two decades of Melse’s regime took the starving Ethiopians for three major wars_ two Eritrea and one with Somalia. He dumped the election of 2005 which he lost in a day light. In 2010 he rugged the election by assuring his 3 decades of power in a dictatorial regime he created.

Today the regime is confronting a war in Somali region, in Kenyan border, and in the West of the country a conflict not yet accessible to the international media.

When it comes to liberation movements they have not yet found their Ethiopianist identity struggling inside the country. Many seems to follow the rhythm imposed by the belligerent regime of Eritrea or others or those movements fighting to create an independent Ethnic region in the model of Southern Sudan or Somaliland.

If the country could not find an avantgardist  alternative  to bring it to a democracy and consolidate the national state hood it will catch the syndrome of Somali and that of Yugoslavia leading to eventual  of balkanization based on the Ethnical constitution and its article 39  which permits  self determination up to independence. This the only constitution  having such article in the world.

Article 39 the Right of Nations, Nationalities and Peoples

1. Every nation, nationality or people in Ethiopia shall have the unrestricted right to self determination up to secession.
